What the board is for
The advisory board is the review layer of the Stratsec Radar. Members read briefing items in the sectors they ran security for, before those items publish. They also take calls with the subscribing organisations they are assigned to.
Every item is measured against one test. “Would this have been useful to me when I ran security?” An item that fails it does not publish.
Who is on it
Members are former CISOs of Forbes Global 2000 companies, and former global and regional cybersecurity practice leaders from the Big Four, IBM and Accenture. They have managed the budgets, faced the boards, and made the decisions our subscribers make now.
Members are named inside the Radar. A subscriber sees which of them is assigned to their organisation and can put a question to that person directly. That is worth more than a row of photographs on a marketing page.
What they bring
Former CISOs
They have run the programmes, defended the budgets, and answered to the kind of board our subscribers answer to. That is why an item tells you the implementation cost of a requirement as well as its wording.
Former practice leaders
They have watched the same obligation land in a dozen sectors and a dozen jurisdictions. That is a different kind of knowledge from having watched it land once, and it shows up in what an item treats as routine.
Assigned, not pooled
Each member reviews in the sector they ran security for. Each subscribing organisation has two to three of them assigned to it. Sector judgment is the part of this work a model cannot supply.
Joining the board
The board grows slowly and on purpose. Members review real items on a schedule, so we ask a candidate about their available time as well as their background.
Write to us if you have held senior security responsibility at an organisation of that size and this kind of review appeals to you. Tell us which sectors you would want to cover.
